DéSERTS is the name of this project conceived by Bill Viola to follow the living perfomance of the avanguard compositor Edgard Varèse. This work has been comissioned by the contemporary music group Ensemble Modern after they found out some notes of the compositor about a visual project about his creation. The location for Bill viola video was suggestive in the middle of Cappella di Macchirolo at the Pinacoteca di Brera.
In the same floor there was also an amazing visual work of Peter Greenway who project lasers on the Cenacolo, but unfortunately taking shoots was strictly forbidden..
