DESIGN WEEK MILANO 2010

Nice to go back to Milano and the air of the Design week was as always crispy and international even if I haven't found many exciting objects and ideas in my walk through the pavillons, galleries and showrooms but of course few exceptions...

MY BAUHAUS IS BETTER THAN YOURS AT WOK STORE
http://www.wok-store.com/live/

Wok store is a concept store in the heart of Navigli channels and it is an exciting platform for young artists and designers.
This year as the previous one has welcomed this bunch of german designers, all ex students of the well known Bauhaus Weimer.
A big installation of triangles and neon took place in the store creating a flashy atmosphere..

IAN PEDIGO

This artist has been smartly suggested by my friend Valentina.
Ian Padigo is from Alaska and he has mostly exposed in Usa and in Rokteby/London, the same one of Michael Samuel.
According to me he is one of those artists who has made the step forwards from 'classic' minimal art.
His last solo expo is called "Accumulation of Matters" at Klaus Von Nichtssagend, Nyc.

LIMONCELLO

LIMONCELLO is an amazing and cosy gallery close to Kingsland road. There I found Vanessa Billy solo exhibition, "Who shapes what?". She is a conceptual artists with a love for the matter, concrete, plastic, steel. This espirit can not make me to remind of Lucio Fontana, Piero Manzoni works. The minimal and conceptual approach to art is very common in the young generation artists.. To do the step fowards from the Masters and do that with class is not that easy but sometimes you find somebody who is doing it, you will see..stay tuned on easyview!
